Hey Fictionistas,
We just had our third call for the Great Substack Prompt Celebration and it was delightful! The first drafts produced some memorable characters and vivid imagery. We can’t wait to read the completed pieces next week.
If you missed the post with all the information and instructions you can read via the link below. Don’t worry you can still participate. Grab your laptop or pen and paper and join the fun!
The Prompt
In the United States from 1942-1976 pinball was outlawed in most major cities. Write about an illegal underground pinball club.
What now?
Now that the party is over, what’s next you wonder. Polish your piece and when the discussion thread is posted next Thursday post it on your Substack page and put the link in the comments. If the story doesn’t go with what you typically post you can leave a link to a view only Google doc and post it in the comments. Stories should be 1,000 words or less.
Once you share your stories, the community will start reading, and we’ll looking for the stories that impress us most!
Let’s write together this month, Fictionistas!

I've already finished a draft of my story. It's a little on the long side (roughly 1300 words) so I have to decide whether or not to edit it down or keep it as it is. It definitely went in an unexpected direction but that's why this is so much fun!
Ooooh pinball! I will have to check out the deeds!
