Hey Fictionistas readers, writers and participants!
It seems we are bookending our month with “missing” hosts. At our launch Writing Prompt Party earlier in the month, Nicole was missing due to a family vacation, and here at the culmination of the month, I am sorry to say that Heather is “missing” due to a fractured limb! We are sending loads of love and healing over to our Sprinkled Inspiration Prompt Queen and giving her a free pass to enjoy whatever pain treatments that are coming her way that, let’s be honest, are going to make reading and writing an extra special challenge!
So, this month, where we normally share a favorite from each of the hosts and the fan favorite, I’m going to do something a little different. First, I will share the favorite I chose before realizing I was the lone reader of the month, then give you a couple other subcategories to shine the spotlight on!
Nicole’s Favorite
Reddoscarwrites shared Pinballers of New Athens and from the beginning I felt like I was thrust right into a whole new world of pinball. Like many of the entries this month, getting to the 1,000 word count was a challenge for this story too, so don’t miss out on reading the comments for a little “behind-the-scenes” on the larger plans for this story and world. (Thanks so much for asking the question that spurred that sneak peek, nibbins the cat!)
Familiar Fictionistas
Next up I’d love to shine the spotlight on a couple of stories shared by writers that were favorites from months past.
Timeball by ML Augustin
Diversion by Postcard Inkblot
PINBALL:<A game of overkill.> by Quenntis
The Rulebreakers!
nibbins the cat says their story is just a fragment of a story. They called it Contraband and it can be read here
Jackie Dana was very excited to enter a story into the first ever Lunar Awards hosted by Brian Reindel, so she wasn’t too concerned about following our rules to complete her story Down the Drain. Be ready for a bit of a longer read as this story bursts out of our 1000 word limit
Finally, The Stowaway, by Chris Deliso is also going to give you a little more with a 1600 word count, but, honestly, is there a such thing as too much fiction in this group?
Your Favorite?
Get in the comments right now and let us know which story was your favorite of the month (even if they “broke the rules”). Let’s support our community by reading, and sharing, their fiction!
