Hi Fictionista!
Last night (April 28) we hosted our monthly Fictionistas Zoom call. As an experiment, we recorded the call for those who could not participate live, which you can watch here. (Note: we had some background noise for the first minute or so and then it smooths out).
The call was quite long, but it was a lot of fun. In the first 45 minutes or so of this call, we talked about the Exquisite Corpse/round-robin project that’s been discussed in the Substack Writers Discord group as well as the Surprise Box, an idea that Alex Garcia and Geoffrey Golden are working on to build a network of fiction Substacks. Then we turned to general conversation.
Participating in the call (in no particular order):
Geoffrey Golden: Adventure Snack
Alex Garcia: The Xen'in Universe
Joyce Reynolds-Ward: Speculations from the Wide Open Spaces, Speculations on Politics, and Martiniere Stories
Jackie Dana: Story Cauldron and Unseen St. Louis
Tim Chambers: Banana Republican Blues
Nick Mazmanian: Typewriter Mechanic
Winston Malone: The Storyletter
Michael Estrin: Situation Normal
Anthony Lora: Quick as a Flash
As I noted, the video was an experiment. If you watch it, please leave a comment and let us know if it was useful, so we can judge whether or not to keep doing this in the future. Also, feel free to leave questions or suggestions on anything we discussed.
