I'm sorry to be the grinch in the works, but I won't be able to get on the zoom this time. I still want to, hopefully next one.
My abuelita (91 years old) is here and has been had a long time wish to go visit Queretaro. We're heading out in a little while and will be gone all day.
I may ping you about a guest post in January. Meanwhile, happy holidays/new year/fictiony stuff!
Victor, that's totally understandable. Feel free to reach out to us next month about a guest post. And have fun with your abuelita! I hope you have a great time.

Hi! I’m a fiction/novel writer, though I mostly share non-fiction on my Substack. I found you through Elle Griffin’s Substack and love your publication! Thanks for doing what you do!
Way to go, Fictionistas! And thanks for posting my article a while back. Fictionistas is a cool resource on Substack. I just this morning posted chapter one of my ‘Covid novel’ which takes place in Manhattan. I’m also still posting my NYC ‘fictional memoir,’ plus essays on culture, politics, recovery, etc.
Side note: I didn't know there was a writing challenge earlier this year. I guess that's what I get for not paying more attention to those Substack newsletters in my email.
The great thing is now you have a complete table of contents! You don't have to wait for the next chapter 😁 Also, guilty as charged, I have not read it through yet. It's in my saved waiting for the perfect opportunity.
I'm currently having pre-party anxiety, but hopefully will show up to meet everyone in (virtual) person shortly. I'm still new to the Substack scene (first post went out Oct. 8th) but enjoying it immensely so far. My goal for 2023 is to STICK WITH IT. Keep up with my weekly short fiction pieces and occasional blog rants and hopefully catch some subscribers along the way - although trying desperately not to make that my focus. Trying and failing. 😂
I don't remember how I stumbled upon Fictionistas. Perhaps you were recommended by one of my early subscribes. Happy to be here with you all. And I'll probably reach out about guest posting, too. Comfort zones be damned in 2023! Go get 'em, everybody.
Thanks for such an encouraging post! I love seeing the breakdown of different Substacks and seeing the growth over time. I found you through Winston Malone's, The Storyletter. I've absolutely loved your interviews and the positivity of the community. Keep up the good work!

I am SOOOOO far behind on all of my Substack subscriptions so I totally get it!
me too. I feel like a horrible subscriber. LOL
Thanks, Fictionistas, for all you do to support fiction on Substack, and congratulations on this year's growth and success!
Thanks for being a part of this crazy experiment! 🤩
Big thanks to Jackie and Geoffrey for all the work they do! And a big thanks to this growing community!
Thanks Michael!
