I have three writing groups, all working slightly differently and I get different things from them. They are also all online which works well with my current lifestyle.

I am a member of a similar group. It is a filmmaking group. We meet once a week on zoom and each of us is working on a film we want to produce or direct. Most of the people in this group have written the screenplay they want to make into a movie. One person has hired a writer to write the screenplay for the movie he wants to produce.

Great post! Camano Writers is a lovely collection of writers in the Camano Island area. We meet once a month and welcome others and support all writers.

Yes! I also have a group called The Writers’ Support Group. We meet on zoom every Thursday at 8pm est. open to all serious writers. People come and go and we have 100+ members, though the zooms are often 10-20 people as members all don’t come every week. They come as needed. I cohost with author Lainey Cameron.

We don’t do critiques, we just talk and network and share insights, tips, and frustrations.

Couldn't agree more. I've belonged to one or more writing groups for decades... So many benefits - I don't know how writers manage without a group!

Oh I love that and see it as a sign... I’ve been thinking about this for a long time now, but I’ve found it difficult to find a group in Madrid... I’ll keep trying though!

Great piece.

I'd like to join a group at some point, either online or in person. I'm down in Melbourne, Australia so onlinr times with other parts of the world are often inconvenient unfortunately.

I have yet to find a writing group that 'fits' for in person meeting, something I desire. However, I have had a wonderful support group online and I simply could not do what I do without knowing others are experiencing the same struggles. I would love to find a critique group, I could use the feed back. Great read, Lloyd, thank you for the reminder!

Thanks for the piece, Lloyd! Coincidentally, I just joined a new critique group for game writers.

I am looking for an English writing group around Paris. Or maybe I can try a virtual one, as well.
