Frequently I either get a visual image that demands to ot come out or I accept a challenge of some sort. Wish I could remember the combination that led to my only successful story on ScribbleHub - it resulted in a single paragraph where a guy wakes up with what he thinks is a hangover only to discover he is now a woman - and his first reaction is that he's glad he has a unisex name. That paragraph sat on my hard drive for several months, with no real idea what to do with it until I rolled up a random character for the Mighty Protectors role-playing game and wound up with an odd set of generic powers and a transsexual female character and it all fell into place.
my inspiration for the most recent series came from wanting to own yet another Travelers-Notebook-style system. I didn’t end up buying it, but it got the story going. And, um, the cards? I wanted to write something funny but then I couldn’t remember if this was a politics-free zone, so have opted not to.
Last year my husband and I binged season 1 of True Detective. (The one with Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConauhey)
My dream had the characters they play in it, but not as detectives. I was the younger sister of Woody's character. It took place in a clearing of a forest in some non descript middle of nowhere sort of place. And it was SO real. My alarm of COURSE woke me up just when things were getting really interesting.
(Being from Southern Louisiana, I HIGHLY recommend watching season 1. They nailed the accents and pronounced everything correctly. )
Can’t wait to read these stories!!!
I saw a rag-picker's little daughter share a piece of her bun with and old blind beggar. Such generosity in a small child is admirable.

I've often gotten story ideas from dreams.

Love this prompt. So topical ;)
I had a simplistic detective fiction take on this: https://kanwarpsplaha.substack.com/p/people-dont-eat-cats-although-cats
Will post in in Thursday's thread too.
When does the post to add our stories go live?
Fun stuff.
