Today we’re celebrating a surge of new subscribers to the Fictionistas Substack. We’re well over 600 members now and growing every day! Woo hoo!

If you’re new to Fictionistas, welcome aboard! We’re glad you’re here.
Fictionistas is a Substack newsletter and resource by and for people publishing fiction on the Substack platform. Our goal is to connect fellow fiction writers, share knowledge and ideas, and help promote everyone’s writing. This platform wasn’t designed for us, but we see the potential for fiction authors being able to connect directly with their readers, and every day we’re finding new and inventive ways to make Substack our own.
Here’s a quick tour:
Introduce yourself in our discussion thread. 👋
Participate in our monthly(-ish) Zoom calls. Keep an eye out for invite emails with call info. We talk about our successes and challenges, share tips for growth, and plot against our arch enemies, the food writers.
Check out The Great Substack Story Challenge, a round-robin / Exquisite Corpse type story written by a number of Fictionistas authors. (For more background, read our interview in the official Substack newsletter On Substack!)
Join the Substack Writers Unite Discord group. It’s for all Substackers, not just fiction writers, but it’s a great place to ask questions and get to know everyone better.
Add your ideas to our discussion thread on how to improve fiction writing on the platform.
Spread the word to fellow Substack fiction writers—the more the merrier!
Looking for inspiration? Check out our ever-growing list of fiction Substacks. Subscribe to a few and see how they’re innovating on newsletter fiction.

Welcome new Fictionistas!
Howdy! Happy to be here. Looking forward to meeting so many of you and learning from the well of knowledge on offer.
Hi everyone! I signed up for Fictionistas a month or two ago, but haven’t been that active. I’d like to contribute more moving forward. I write weekly fiction over at Along the Hudson. Looking forward to meeting more fiction writers!
